    Pellet Test With Artemis P15.

The other day I performed a pellet test with the P15 I have through a couple of Chronographs I have and fired a variety or .177 pellets to see how consistent the rifle was. I did notice on some of the pellets that the first pellet was sometimes the fastest and to my thinking this may be due to the way the first pellet is slightly more forward in the magazine than the rest of the pellets in the magazine.
(Despite the magazine holding 11 pellets not all shots over the Chrono recorded.
The results were as follows and pellets weighed on scales in amounts of 11 and total weight of pellets then divided by 11:

    JSB Hades Pellet weight 10.3gn. 718, 708, 718, 709, 711, 713, 716, 711, 716, 709, 713 (Average fps 712.9) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 718 = 11.89, Average FPS @ 712.9 = 11.63.
    Crosman Premier Magnum. Pellet weight 10.6gn. 712, 705, 705, 709, 708, 709, 708, 709, 708, 705, Err (Average fps 707.8) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 712 = 11.93, Average FPS @ 707.8 = 11.79.
    QYS Heavy. Pellet weight 9.80gn. 738, 727, 728, 728, 729, 726, 729, 729, err, err, err. (Average fps 729) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 738 = 11.85, Average FPs @ 729 = 11.54.
    RWS Superdome Ultra Heavy Magnum Pellet weight 10.2gn. 716, 720, 721, 721, 721, 720, 722, 721, 722, err, err. (Average fps 720.56) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 722 = 11.81,Average FPS @ 720.56 = 11.76.
    Kaiser (Green Colour Logo on Tin). Pellet weight 8.8gn. 754, 752, 750, 755, 752, 752, 753, 750, 752, 751, 754, (Average fps 752.28) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 755 = 11.14, Average FPS @ 752.3 = 11.06.
    Kaiser (Blue Colour Logo on Tin). Pellet Weight 8.8gn. 748, 744, 744, 744, 746, 744, 744, 743, 746, 745, 744, (Average fps 744.73) Ft/lb highest FPS @ 748 = 10.94, Average FPS @ 744.73 = 10.84.

Despite both Kaiser pellets being made by H&N and both looking very similar there is a difference in velocity and when shooting them through the P15 if I don't re-zero the scope between them they hit the target in different positions though both pellets do hit the same area as where the first pellet hit when shot so if I do shoot them all I need to do is zero the scope for each type of pellet. Overall the difference in velocity between each pellet isn't too bad and in the JSB hades there's a difference of 10 fps between the fastest and slowest, Crosman it's 7 fps, QYS it's 12 fps, RWS it's 6 fps, Kaiser (Green logo) 5 fps and Kaiser ( Blue logo) 5fps.
Next step is to do a better accuracy test and decide which pellet to stick to.
