    Painting Crosman pistol cast parts

I'm not sure what metal the pistol grip part etc is made of, but I have one I want to repaint.

I remember years ago I used Plasticoat to prime the aluminium forks on a motorbike.

    Anyone done it?

Any hints or help would be great.

    Thanks

it's made out of monkey netal and you'll find not a lot sticks to it
i have heard some metal blacking compounds will black it but most paints will chip off
plastic coating may be the best option or black nickel plating

Use an acid etch primer to key the metal & a one coat paint like Simonize tough coat.

You could use the black wrinkle finish seen a lot on classy German air pistols like Walther or use black military suncorite weapons finish, you will never get that off.

It's made of zamak/zmac Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium and copper A quick sand blast some etch primer and then black VHT paint , Stick in the oven for 10 min to bake on when the missus is out.
