You'll get a mixed reception to that one, some people are happy with them for what they are, some people will blatantly tell you they are a pile of poo. If you want a long term reliable gun then maybe not, I believe they have trigger problems that need sorting out fairly quickly . I've never bought one, I've either got Weihrauchs or Air Arms , but quality in them has gone down hill as well as price going up, sharply with Air Arms products , they really have got expensive , but each to their own, you pays your money, you picks what you want

I have many in there various forms.
They are a clone of the Gamo hunter 220.
    BSA meteor mk6
    Smk XS 19
    Kral N-01
    Hatsan 900X
    Stoeger XS20
    Most of the Crosman range.
    All the same rifle.
The trigger as standard has a lot of first stage travel, this is what puts most people off.
Search the net for Crosman trigger mod.
Same trigger used on the rapid mk1 and the current Gamo pcp range.
    Repariere nicht, was nicht kaputtist.

I think you can get a really decent Cometa Fenix 400 which shoots good out the box for 200 quid, and has widely available spares

A basic Fenix 400 will cost £100 more than a Pest Controller. The 300 will cost about £50-60 more.

Get the pest controller. You won't be disappointed, unless you expect it to shoot like a HW98.

    Cometa 400, highly underrated.

When I bought my Cometa off Dan he sad he's stopped stocking some brands due to poor back up. He was saying how good back up is for Cometa

I've got a crosman optimus which I think is the same rifle, it's not really my cup of tea. I bought it cheap to have a play with but I can't get away with it. Also had a remington express that cost me sixty quid second hand, which was a great rifle and I wish I hadn't sold it. But personally I would look for a secondhand hw99.
