New springer options

I fancy replacing my old .22 break barrel Gamo 3000 for something better. This will be my principle springer but all my hunting is done with pcp's, so it's purpose is pleasure and keeping my technique correct. It won't gave heavy use but want it to be a keeper.

I want something light, break barrel and that will last. Trigger quality has to be half decent, not necessarily a record unit but certainly nothing like the Gamo 3000. Don't want to have to strip the gun down out the box, I may tweak it in the future but I'm not buying to immediately have to tune it.

So far I've got my eye on:
Hw99s (obvious choice but have galling issues been sorted?)
Cometa 400 super carbine (would be a blind order, not in stock at rfd)
Webley Stingray
BSA Meteor Super (not seen anything but concerning reviews regarding accuracy from the USA)

Something else?

Possibly the only springers that I've shot and been perfect for me out the box, was some TX,s (not all)and a couple of Walther Terrus,s .

No the galling hasn't been properly addressed with the 99, unfortunately.

HW99 I'd say... Especially if weight is a consideration.
Personally, off the back of owning 3 and having friends with another 3 - I think the galling issue is an old issue largely regurgitated by older owners or people that have never owned one.
Either way, the various 'fixes' are easily applied if you ever come across it.

If I only had one air rifle it would be an HW95

Out of the rifles on your list and as you don't want to do anything major to it then I'd have to recommend the Cometa 400 USC, you'd be surprised how good they are out of the box, the trigger needs a little adjustment but pretty good.

HW95 (with a short stroke extension), or 99S (you might need to address the cocking lever). Or 30S if moderate power is fine.

You just need a decent trigger to enjoy a springer and hone your technique, and the above are moderate weight, accurate, and will last a lifetime.

A lot of good recommendations above I'd like to add a good Birmingham made Supersport if you can find one.

Diana 34 or 280, good triggers but will boing a bit unless they've had guides fitted. I also love my lightning tac, its as accurate as any of my 22 break barrel springers inc the 99. The triggers not as good but I can manage it ok and is no barrier to accuracy. If weight wasn't an issue I'd say try a HW90.

They look nice, I particularly like the grey laminate version. Stock looks similar to that on the HW110k

I'll second the 400USC, Vastly under-rated.
