Yep, you certainly hear that a lot around here along with "ducky" ("duckie?"). It's a bit worrying when you hear blokes calling other blokes "love", like in some parts of South Yorkshire.. Still, better love than hate, eh? And I remember a lot of the mining community around here and also Derbyshire saying "yuff" for "youth" etc. Local colloquialisms and accents. Gotta love 'em, in'it?

Not long to wait now. Wonder if I might be able to squeeze a plink in on New Year's Day? Even if only briefly. It'd be nice to think you've started the year off in the best possible way and as you intend to carry on.. I seem to remember that I managed it last year, or the previous one..

I'll get one of my girls out. By the way can some body remind me about hitting the Quigly bucket. I spent ages last time trying to hit it with my .177 Airsporter and only got it twice but I think there is a second part on top.
Next time I'll take my .25 99 and if I do hit it at least I'll be able to hear it.
Comments about firing it mortar style perfectly welcome.

I know how you feel about .25 but I certainly love hitting those spinners hard.

With an Airsporter, excellent , I could only just see the bucket never mind hear it being hit, I'm assuming my pellets must have been really soft as I think I hit it a dozen or more times with Stutzen

Yes At our last house I plinked at 22 yards with small blocks of wood with .22 or the .25, both at about 11fpe the Herman sent 'em flying far more and started to split the blocks sooner.

I used to shoot about the same sort of distance at my old house into a metal pellet trap that was free standing, after about 5 shots the pellet trap would start to move round and you could hear a loud shud as well.
