I love the kicking, snarling, smoking handful of boingery pistol fun in the 45. Not exactly "cheap" these days, but loads of character and fun.

an ausie seal on the 45 calms it down massively, and gives much more consistent performance. great guns.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

But it won't smell as nice as a standard one, Jon.

HW45 is a great choice. Biggest downside is that they are big.

I like shooting the Webley Tempest. I have them in both calibres. They are far smaller all round than most offerings such as the HW45, or for that matter the old Webley Hurricane/Typhoon. No longer made but Birmingham made ones come up regularly in the sales section.
I like the size, and the trigger isn't bad. With some technique they shoot really well and hit the target with a solid whack. Pretty fast to load too. There is a bit more to get the best out of them but to me well worth the perseverance.

CO2 powered muti shot options are fun, but due to their triggers not for a training option for full bore handguns; in fact they cause more technique problems than they solve. For plinking good fun then great.

    HW45 or P700W/SA.
    Best of the bunch.
