    Webley Mk3 spring length

Just rust blued my Webley Mk3 and tidied up the stock, looks like it came out the factory also fitted new leather washer, when fitting the spring it seemed a bit long, stuck out about 3 inches before compressing to catch the trigger block and cylinder threads, shoots fine but has a slight slam wondering if the spring is too long, anyone know the correct length for a Webley Mk3 spring, feel as if someone has put a magnum one to get more power. Not going to get more than 10ftlbs, bit like filling up a Smart car with super dupa petrol but not gaining any extra performance or speed, so stick with the type of spring it was made for.
