Crosman 140 Sacrilege :)

OK so having fixed and fallen in love with this gun, I hated the sights !
So I fitted a nice lyman sight I had laying around. and took the old ones off.

So much better now (for me)

looks fine to me and what you have isn't a std 140 but either a montgomery ward -jc higgins or a sears and roebuck
has it got the dovetailed barrel

Yep it is a " JC Higgins "22" Caliber 126.19300 Sears.Roebuck and co. Made in USA"
A shame barrel to frame white plastic spacer part missing, but a really good gun

Dovetailed ? nope dont see that, why have normal ones?

some of the catalogue guns did the 1400 and 160 models did
someone in the US was replicating the white strip but i can't remember who

I really like the white strip on the Sears guns -- I remember getting some replacement strip from (I think!) J G Airguns quite a while ago for a J C Higgins 180 I have.
