Ripley XL9 action, change from LH to RH

    Hi all,
I’ve emailed Ripley but not had a reply yet.
Anyone know how difficult it would be to change a lh xl9 action to rt hand.
I can sort out the stock side of things but wondered what’s involved with the bolt.

I may be wrong. But am sure they can't be changed from right to left. I've got a right hand xl9 that am looking to sell.

If I remember the insides of my AR5S correctly there's a small brass insert in the underside of the block which has a handed cut-out for the cocking lug on the bolt. If the XL is built the same way you would need a new brass part and new bolt.

The XL may have a more complicated set up what with the magazine etc.
    Best Regards

    Simon

    I've got some slug guns.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I’ll wait and see if Ripley come back and confirm if it’s possible.

In the past I owned a Ripley XL9 from new ordered direct from Deben who were then the distributor. I was certainly not offered the choice of left or right magazine and given that the mag is fixed leads me to think that it just wasn't offered.

    Hi Nick,
    I hope your keeping well.
Your right the magazine only opens to the left on the right and left handed guns.
It makes me think bolt orientation must be able to work in either hand.
I’ll have to take the receiver off and have a look what’s involved.
