    Potentially handy material

For those of you who do not have a lathe and punch CO2 seals out of various materials, I found this at the weekend. A deluxe sink mat by Addis, consisting of 300 discs which are the size of a 20p. They are just over 2mm in thickness which is ideal for a lot of capsule seals. The material has a good Shore hardness and seems similar to polyurethane, and may well be that material. I am just conducting a test punching a few different sizes out to see how it reacts to CO2. At £2.49 it is a bargain for doing repairs.

Very interested to know if it works as I need a bulb seal for a old Gamo pistol and don’t want to pay the postage for one seal!

Neil, is that what they use for automatic forklift doors in the factory ? Really tough stuff, pellets from .22 11 ft.lb. rifle just flatten against it and drop to the ground, curtain unmarked. Will you be at the next Kempton Park meeting ?

Save the postage Baz, if you can spare a couple of discs at Kempton I'll see you there
