Specialist surface refinishing to give a camo, carbon fibre, snake skin or any other fancy effect,
A pre-printed pattern is floated on water, the item is dipped through the pattern & it comes out completely covered.

Google it to see the process.

I picked a mk1 rapid up last week, that had all been done. There's a couple of pictures of it on the rapid forum. Atb mick

I always thought it would be nice to get my long Canon lens done ( 100-400mm ) but I’d be really nervous that it would ruin it

They do sell loose camo covers for big lenses but I always think they look scruffy and get in the way of the controls

My FAC Hornet has a camo dipped scope that I bought on here years ago, it’s really nice.

My No1 Steyr (HFT comp rifle) was a Hydrographics display model from the late 90s and completely dipped in realtree from head to toe, including a bipod and silencer. I've had that rifle for over 20 years and it's only now i'm thinking of taking it back to get a few bits re-done. Jon Sykes passed away quite a while ago now and the company is in new hands. I know there are plenty of other 'dippers' now out there but i think my first port of call (price depending obviously) will be Hydrographics.
