    Hw100 long range groups

    Hi

What are other owners' findings when bench rest shooting their hw100?

What realistic 5 shot groups are you getting at 45 yards And what pellets are a good place to start testing?

I know every barrel is different, but i'm going to order some sample packs but would like some advice on what to try as a starting point.

Sweet spot filling, I go to 180 but have not chronoed a full tank shot string.

I've never really pushed it past 30 yards as I don't get much range time and prefer field shooting, however would like to get back in to range shooting for practicing technique.

    Thanks guys

Not sure about group sizes at 45 yards, but I zero my .177 at 35 yards with H&N Baracuda Match(10.65gr). I check the zero and simulate a kill zone by shooting mint imperials. The HW100 can easily out perform my mediocre skills, so 40 yards tends to be my limit.

WOW - talk about lowering the bar

If your not getting a 5p sized group indoors rested at 40m then you have work to do, all my guns will do this with the right pellets, including my HW100, although 50m is only achievable with my more target orientated ones

Somewhat harsh, but I do kinda aggree... 50p sized groups outside (calm, but never still conditions) on our club range at 45 yards is just a basic "it's not broken" standard for the PCPs. My decent springers will all do that too.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
