    Hw80

I have a mint HW80 serial number 924002 1983 and am thinking of selling it.
Extra long spring guide, top had, piston seal and breech seal from Chambers.
I have the original steel guide.
This gun is unmarked, bluing is perfect, no marks on stock.
    Whats it worth?
Possibly swap for AA Pro sport?

I would think it should sell for £300 but my opinion it should be worth more,

I agree with this but sadly it won't be any more. The 80 is fantastic -a true 'desert island' rifle. It is so under stressed at legal limit that it is hardly working at all. Even at 20+ ft lb it is likely to last for several lifetimes..If we came back 100 years from now many 80's will probably still be working without any work being needed.
Every serious shooter should own an 80!

My advice-having owned several of both rifles is-don't bother! The PS is a very pretty gun but to me the underlever is horrible. Why it is made of aluminium rather than steel just amazes me. The 80 is a big gun it is true but in terms of weight I wouldn't think it makes a lot of difference . Both are accurate well made rifles BUT-and it is a big but-the PS new is now over £800 and good second hand specimens fetch a lot more than a really nice 80. Also extras for the 80 are readily available at reasonable prices whereas extras for the PS are harder to source.

I agree with Rapidnick; the Pro-Sport is overrated and you will regret selling the HW80.

I've had a Pro-Sport, and they are decent rifles, but they are a nicer idea than they are in reality. I'd take a TX200 or a HW77 over a Pro-Sport, and definitely a Mk.I HW80.

Heavyweight rifles are not actually ideal for most folk.
You might be happier with an HW95 .
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34

A mk1 hw80 in mint condition I would try gun trader or places like that and try £350-£400 for it as if it is original unmessed with a collector might pay the higher price

The Prosport is a man's rifle, for sure so the few extra, I think we're ialking ounces here, shouldn't of been a problem.

Ps underlever is why i sold mine. If you habe boney fingers multiple cocking will hurt. It can pop open when cocked and thats why i ended up fitting a magnet to help prevent it. Tx200 is a much better rifle. Keep the 80!!
