    HW50 Original version dates

Any idea when the old HW50 with screw in end block ceased production? I'm guessing mid 90's? Mach 1.5

Interesting. So I'm guessing 93/95 May have been the last of the screw in block ones? Mach 1.5

The blue book claims the Beeman R8 was made until 1997.
It is basically the same gun with a different stock, so it might be a clue, but I really dont trust info in the blue book that well.
    Too many airguns!

Just picked one up dated 1993. Why do these old ones shot nicer than the modern version? Mach 1.5

Do you mean as compared to the recent 50/99, Paul? Those newer rifles are 26mm bore, the earlier ones 25mm. Can't remember if strokes and piston weights are in Bruce's thread in the Useful Section?

Plus they have the factory honed cylinders of the old screw in rear block guns so the cylinders might be better?

Yes Tony. The older version is much better than the new offering from HW in the shape of the 99. Just need to swap the perfect trigger out for the Rekord version. Nice little flip up safety on this one. I think the safety at the rear of the cylinder came in around 1986. Mach 1.5

Yep mines gone to a new home, running out of room and cash. It was 1992, one of the last batches into the UK, Chris from Hull Cartridge was able to confirm all the fine detail.
I know the Perfekt isn't up to Rekord standards but i don't think its a bad trigger.

Different internal specs. may help. the 50 is 25 mmm bore can't remember stroke but good for sub 12 if memory serves. The 55 similar with less stroke so rated more for target I guess. Got a 55 in bits at the mo'. Oops! just seen TonyL post.

I'm looking forward to receiving this, been looking for one for a while(years!) I've never tried the perfekt trigger, would have preferred an earlier version, with the finger grooves on the fore end.Being a 92 model, will it have a synthetic piston seal or leather?

It should have a synthetic piston seal --- all 25mm Weihrauchs changed to synthetic piston seals in 1983.

Yes. I really must get round to fettling mine.. Nick, oldskoolz, kindly located one for me a few years ago and I bought that Rekord unit from your very good self ready to fit to it. Firing discharge movement does seem very slight but the action is twangy. And I'm really not a fan of the trigger.
