    North East clubs, ranges

Hi everyone, I am re-entering the fold after nearly a 10 year hiatus.
What places do us folk from the northeast have to shoot?
I used to be a member at Thorndell, frequented Bob Dunkleys and Steve Smiths.
I know Thorndell is long gone but are the others? Know of anywhere else?

    Many thanks

    Hi Wez,
Steve Smith's is still going and MUCH improved. Plus if Field Target floats your boat there is a course out, but PM me for more info about that. I used the be a member of Thorn Dell untill they closed 2014.

    Thorn Dell.

    Hello,
The reason for the closure was because the farmer retired, the land was sold off and the new owner told us to pack and go. It was originally started by Paul Wilson (the stock maker) he lived in the local village.
One of our members was John Costello 2 x FT World Champion, a real cool customer and very pleasant with it.

Yes it was a good set up, very windy but good.
I always thought Stuart Percival started and run Thorndell.

Hi, Yes Stuart did take over later along with Steve Littlefair. And to a lesser degree Lenny Mensforth & John Harper.

    FT or HFT.

If HFT is more your thing there's a range at Elwick TS27 3HD.

I have looked at that range and Thimbleby, haven't shot FT or HFT for a few years now but would like to get back into it and get my son (13 year old) into it too.

Thanks for the replies people, I really appreciate it.
I'm off to do a spot of HFT on Sunday, it will be a little baptism of fire tho as I'm yet to get acquainted to the new gun but I'm sure it will be fun.

Lavant_lad, yeah I have saw some updated pictures of Steve Smiths and it's looking really good, I'm sure I will be up there in due course
