The star nut needs to be removed , the barrel is splined also . Use a press to remove it , some heat may be needed if it’s stubborn .

Well then young Tone, I'm still thinking what to do with this .25 barrel off cut, not sure I want to destroy the Exocet breech block as they are hard to replace now if all goes wrong, where as HW ones are two a penny and if they are easier to get apart, then may be something can be done.

just drill the HW barrel out of the block on a lathe - much easier. chop it off leaving 2", stick the 2" in a 3 jaw, and bore thru whatever diameter your .25 barrel is from the breach end. Then trim off the protruding section, and use green loctite to secure the .25 in place.
