Rest In Peace Ian.

I only met Ian once, when I bought a Triumph Bonneville off him. Had a chat about airguns, and you could tell he really knew his stuff. I think he said he had 120 rifles at the time, and I've seen him buy a few more on here since.

I also met Ian at Quigley Bottom, I even bought a gun off him, it was in lovely nick, the bxxgxr wouldn't come down on his asking price though, he was right of course, it was a generous price.

His humour, wit and knowledge will be missed on here

I never met Ian but like others enjoyed his wit (and sometimes sarcasm, but in a good way) on here and occasional fun sparring with him

He used to taunt me with pics of his Sport in Beeman stock, you will be greatly missed

Really sorry to hear that I.J has passed away. 😥 Guessing it was related to the tainted blood he was given all of those years ago.

Such sad news, I knew Ian for 20 years or so and he always made me laugh (not sure how as his jokes were dreadful)


But he was the kindest man and always a pleasure to meet up with, his knowledge of collectable stuff was quite astounding.. I popped round to his gaff last year and was luckily enough to be given a look at his collection and to be quite honest was staggered at the size and the quality of the gear he had.. a true enthusiast

Heck, This is bad news, Used to love having a chat with Ian when I saw him at the Melbourne vintage airgun fayres, He had a brilliant dry humour and always med me laff!!

Am so gutted to read this.

Many years ago when my marriage was going down the tubes Ian was a big support to me. More than i could reasonably expect him to have been. Such was his selfless and kind character. His words of wisdom and encouragement undoubtedly got me through some hard months.
