    I dont ever recall seeing many little 4 X 32 on HW35 back then…@70s maybe…
    Poster says from the 80s. Everything had gone big.
    I remember David Lane using a Nikko 4-12 x 40 on everything and the scope catching on all over the place, followed by Optima coming out with the Moonlighter series. Everyone going nuts for the super Moonlighter…even getting fitted to the little 766.
    You could not fit either to an Airsporter sadly as they fouled the tap from opening, but saw dozens on top of 35 s and 80s.
    Always thought the fat cylinder on the 35 looked too fat for a 4 x32. Think Rod Lynton used one on the smaller HW50 which employed a spirit level, but he mostly favoured more massive scopes also. John Darling used an unusual 2.75 x 40 Optima on his HW35 which pulled in loads of light, but later switched to a Moonlighter.
