    I.J.'s wit and wisdom - worth a sticky?

    Without wishing to sound mawkish or overly-sentimental, I do feel this BBS has lost a certain joi-de-vivre that Ian's wit brought to it.

    Could perhaps one of his mates, or several of them together, bring together an 'I.J.'s wit' thread by trawling through his old posts? I know some of them will not amount to much in the re-telling, because they were spur of the moment replies and 'you had to be there', but it should be possible to extract something of his great character.

    Wouldn't this be a fitting tribute to one of this section's now-departed brightest sparks? I would do it myself but I didn't really know him like some on here.

    Good idea but I'd guess his freinds are still a bit raw from his loss, I never met Ian but he helped me with advice & miss his crack too.

    Ahem, perhaps you mean craic, or then again?

    I'll have a word at Rivi on Sunday when we meet at the indoor range.

    I'm sure we can put together one or two things;

    The teaspoon with a hole in it left in the sugar bowl....

    The disappearing kettle at the indoor range when I. J. was "booking in" at the outdoor range HFT events.......

    A mixed tin of pellets (all calibres) for one tight fisted shooter in particular..

    This could turn out to be quite a lengthy thread.

    I bought a Webley Vulcan in .177 off IJ at Bolton. I took my 14 year old son with me to have a look at the rifle. IJ was a perfect gentleman and the rifle was faultless. Few people are left who are so honest, respectful and down to earth basicilly decent. Anyone with the attributes IJ had are a loss to mankind.
