Webley Vulcan Mk1 limited edition Walnut

One for sale at R Bamfords Eccleston. Looks mint. No connection but thought I would give collector's the heads up.

No idea what they're worth, not my thing really but yes I wouldn't pay that for one.

They are saying it is one of the 110 special edition MK1 Vulcans. The picture of the breech shows a serial number starting with a 6 so it isn't one of the 110 and subsequently does not command that sort of price.

All special edition MK1's have a serial number starting with a 9 & are extremely rare.

The rifle is more than likely a Vulcan Deluxe, they came with gold trigger & safety & lower grade checkered Walnut stock. I know this because I've got a MK1 Deluxe.

Overpriced even in that condition, I would go £300 to £350 maximum. Very common to mistake the Deluxe for the Special edition, even gunshops often misidentify them.

If some one is prepared to give that kind off money for a volcan,
thay would not off ever even fired one.
1 inch groups 25 yards is the best you will ever get.
    £425 you can get hw 80 or a 97 , 77 for that money.

But what if you didn't want an HW and fancied something different, I agree the price is way over the top and I expect the accuracy isn't as good but some people only collect rifles and like a nice bit of Walnut.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

I emailed the shop & let them know it isn't a special edition. They sent me a very nice reply & apparently one of their other customers had mentioned the possibility it may not be an SE & my email confirmed it.

They have amended the advert & price accordingly. Nice to know we have saved them possible trouble with a miss sale.

Still overpriced if you ask me.

Not really. It is a MK1 Deluxe in what looks like pretty mint condition. It has original open sights, which can cost £60 to £70 for the set to buy.
It looks to have a nice walnut stock Fully chequered which would cost you £150 + to buy second hand. .
It also looks like it comes with the scope.
Though not as rare as the Special Edition, they are still not commonly available in that condition.
A good condition MK1 with original sights can go for near £200.
It is also a business, so going to be slightly more expensive. I think £300 is a fair price for a private sale, so £350 not to bad really.

The Vulcan is capable of tighter groups than that at 25 yards.

True. I get 5p sized groups with all my Vulcan's (I have four) using the new Wasps in .22.

They are a very handy, well built & capable gun. Easy to work on & improve.

The Vulcan is a very underated air rifle ,like the Eclispe and Stingray.

What improvements have you done to yours?
