With just a couple of months to go until the opening round of the 2023 British Air Rifle Championships, it seems a good moment to set out a few details of the new B.A.R.C. Series format for what is an air rifle competition like no other!

New for this year is that the Championships will be contested over a series of 4 rounds:

Round 1 – Meon Valley Airgun Club, 14 May

Round 2 – Womersley Air Rifle Club, 4 June

Round 3 – Throckmorton Air Rifle Club, 2 July

Round 4 – Maldon & District Air Rifle Club, 30 July

At each round, competitors will shoot a 30 target HFT course (set to current UKAHFT rules) and a 20 lane/40 target Field Target course (set to current BFTA rules); a shooter’s score for each round will be calculated by adding their percentage scores from courses. A competitor’s best scores from any 2 rounds will count towards their series total.

Apart from the Sticks Class, there are no separate classes or grades in the B.A.R.C., and shooters are free to shoot any sub-12 ft./lb. air rifle(s), provided it complies with the current UKAHFT/BFTA rules for the particular discipline that they are using it for.

TROPHIES: Here at the B.A.R.C. we pride ourselves on always having quality glassware for the winners to take home, and this year is no exception!
At each round, trophies will be awarded for 1st-3rd place for the highest overall combined percentage scores, as well as a 1st place trophy in the Sticks Class
Trophies will also be awarded as above for the overall series top points scorers after Round 4

ENTRY FEE: With the rising cost of living, fuel, and accommodation, we are very aware of the importance of keeping our sport affordable, and so we are delighted to confirm that we are once again keeping the B.A.R.C. entry fee at just £20 per round – surely the very best value air rifle competition you’ll find in the whole country!
Nor is there any need to pre-book – just come along and pay on the day.

The British Air Rifle Championships 2023 – the ultimate challenge!
