Tax on hunted animals being proposed

I just heard on BBC radio Norfolk that as from the 4th. April 2024, you will have to declare any hunted animal as meat value for income tax purposes.

Anyone have any more information on this?

Apparently because of a previously unidentified loop hole it will be subject to E.U standards of food hygiene as well.
The more I think I know, the more I realise the less I know.

Assuming it's true, does it mean that airguns and pellets can be claimed as deductable expenses?
