    .22 hornet help wanted please

    anyone shed any light on this please, after seating a bullet head ime finding that a sliver of lead as been shaved of the tip, cant post pics but can send pics via email, thanks ray

    Could be the wrong shape on the part of the seating die that pushes the bullet into the case. Some of them have sharp corners. You need one which matches the bullet It won't matter much at very short ranges but could make a big difference at longer ones.

    is the head marked from the top down or is the sliver coming from inside the case, what make of dies are you using, my hornady dies mark my hornet rounds but the good old cheap Lee dies are fine

    Back when I had one, I had nothing but trouble with my lee die's,
    Changed to RCBS & that was that.

    are you casting your own , lightest i could find for sale where 55 g and would not shoot key hole was the result ,
