Off subject slightly, if we are collectors why should we be interested in repro boxes? They obviously do not add any value to the gun concerned so why bother?

Hmm. Only got one repro box, which came with a Webley pistol. Might not add any value, but would look good with display items. I wouldn't buy one (well, not at the prices asked) but understand why some do.

I obviously like to store my collectable air pistols in original boxes where possible but do have some housed in reproduction boxes which I much to prefer to keeping them in pistol sleeves or just laying around in a drawer. I can understand why purists would not necessarily agree with this, but as long as the boxes are not presented as being original they would certainly still have value and appeal to some collectors,

Don't keep mine in a drawer, have a display stand and show the guns in their boxes 16+ at last count, boxes that is, actual Webleys probably around 40 though some have been 'customised'.
