Sportsman Gun Centre customer support ?

Anybody had any dealings with them ?
I have a problem with a gun, its going back to them after 5 frustrating weeks.
Just wondering what they are like dealing with problems.

I'll speak from my own personal experience, in that my rifle got sent back 2 times to their in house specialist and both times it came back still leaking. I'd maybe pop in for consumables but that's it.
Super soaker 3000 (water), nerf fang (foam), noisy cricket (energy), m41a pulse rifle (10x24), Gat gun (.177)

New or S/H? I guess it may be down to their agreements with individual suppliers as to whether they are authorised to fiddle or not. A few years back I had a fault with a new Baikal a/p - they said they couldn't touch it, sent me an immediate new replacement, and shipped the original back to the importer.

It's a new gun with a manufacturing / qc issue so i don't want the gun "repaired" by SGC even if they are authorised to fiddle.
A new gun should be 100% from the factory.
I waited 9 months for the paperwork and then another 9 months for delivery so its a disappointment to say the least but the gun just isn't as it should be, i don't want a replacement as i can't see it being any better so im asking for a refund.

I've always found SGC excellent to deal with, but then I deal with them in person.

I suspect it will depend on the exact nature of the issue, 5 weeks seems a long time to take to return a new rifle with a "manufacturing fault",

Of course a new rifle, or new anything else, should be 100% from the factory, but lot's of new things actually take a fair bit of use to "bed in",
& can feel a bit rough until they do.

Good to hear that, I didn't buy it direct, it had to come through my local RFD.
5 weeks was down to range availability and was spent trying different ammunition, shooting from a rest to try and get the gun to group, allowing everything to bed in and for me to get used to the trigger etc. etc., then arranging for the rfd to visit the range to confirm it all once i had satisfied myself that there was a problem.
I reckon i have about 500 rounds through it and the trigger has settled in now but it's not just an accuracy problem, there is an element of danger with it.
I spoke to the RFD this evening, he was talking to SGC this afternoon and they are arranging to have the gun collected and transported back to them for inspection so fingers crossed.

My own experiences were terrible, it took 5 months to sort out my new faulty FiX and that gun clocked up some air miles for sure, they fixed it and it can back exactly the same, in the end they messed about so long the refund time had expired or something and a replacement was sent eventually and I sold it without even shooting it at a big loss of course, very poor service and I hope yours is better than I received

That whole fiasco put me off FiX guns.

Well that impresses me, not a lot of RFD's would go to those lengths, obviously anything with any sort of danger potential needs addressing.

When it comes to refund/replacement/repair, you need to deal with whoever you paid for the rifle,
so where you say you didn't buy it direct (?), if you paid your RFD to order it in for you, then you deal with them, how they deal with SGC is a matter between the two dealers.
Where as, If you paid SGC direct & they sent it to your RFD as part of the deal, then it's between you & SGC, because your RFD is just acting as an agent.

    Hope it all works out.

I only started the thread because i thought i remembered someone on here having a problem with them over an airgun, i think it was Strimmer.
The RFD doesn't normally deal with them and only ordered the gun from them to help me out, (SGC are the UK agents).
He will be dealing with them but im just trying to find out what they are like sorting out problems, i don't want him to have a lot of hassle over doing me a favour.
It's a firearm not an airgun so collection / delivery is expensive and slow, clocking miles would be a bad idea

So SGC have had it for a couple of weeks now and we still haven't heard anything, my rfd phoned and they said the gunsmith would phone back ...... he's still waiting.
In the mean time I contacted the manufacturer who said "We would suggest returning the product for our examination.", not at all handy as they are in the US

It took a long time to sort my FX pump, which they supply spares for, but couldn't take apart (it was not abused in any way)

In the end they did sort it, actually replacing with an ex demo one.

Could have been resolved quicker by negotiating with me, rather than the painfully silly long time delay (for no good reason)

I tend to buy airgun brands in the same way as cars - nothing too niche, brands that knibs and chambers have spares for, and until recently Sportwaffen

I wouldn't buy a rifle of super dooper latest design, with hardly any parts for, or a practically unheard of make.

I personally go for BSA -not the flashiest, but loads of spares, loads of cross fit parts, anyone can work on them.

I don't like stuff that looks military, and wouldn't buy anything that's just come out, or with a low number being imported / sold

Carlos Fandango, Carlsberg rare as shite, 2k , electronic parts, only sold 20 in uk supergun, - not my thang ....
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34

How did you pay for the gun ? Used correctly, credit cards have their benefits, I mean goods sold fit for purpose etc.
