    Have you considered .20 ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Thank you, Paul. I'll very much look forward to that. I bet that scope is lovely and sounds a great match to the little 30.

My guess is that this little rifle may well become one of your favourites.

Anythings got to be better than a 35.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

Haha! I knew it! A mildly fettled 30 can boast more impressive firing manners than many bigger, more expensive rifles with more technical tunes. The only compromise is the reduced power. But a fair few people have already proved its effectiveness at longer range targets at The Bash so, to me, it makes that power deficit far less of an issue than one might have thought. Shooting in very windy conditions at longer ranges will show the deficit up more, no doubt.

What a bloody wonderful little rifle!

    Hw30

Well my .22 cal HW30 project arrived today. Interesting to see the DR signed stocks have a little more wood to them than the manelli marked stocks giving a little bit more of an adult feel to this little gem. Mach 1.5

Hi Tony. This one is a little rough and so it's for Lyn to use as a project for some of his new products he is developing. If all goes to plan i shall look at adding .22 cal to my collection in the new year. Mach 1.5

The UK spec factory spring was used if i remember Pauls was doing about 8.6 with 8.44 JSB pellets. A kit was fitted to a second rifle and that have now fired well over 500 pellets im told its putting out 8.8 ft lbs. Im finding it hard to believe that the power increase on these rifles Pauls went from just about 7ft lbs to 8.5plus. I have now bought a new 177 to see what power i get with this one. im at the moment trying to get a higher quality spring but this will not be until the new year.

That’s really startling to get that energy level from a .177 HW30, they don’t get that with the very stiff Vortek spring. Is there a very thin piston washer involved or some other way the stroke is lengthened? I had a .22 that would do 9fpe with the very light Hobby pellets, and I thought that was the most one of these little guns would do, the most a .177 would be good for was a bit over 7fpe. Where has that extra power come from? Did you modify the transfer port? Or is that a trade secret?

Im finding it hard to believe that is why i have now bought a new 35s to see what the outcome is with that, im trying to do this before Christmas. I will be having a .22 cal to see what the outcome of that one is. I have not changed the stroke , fitted a V-Mach piston seal. ?
