Thanks Tony, hope you're on the mend too after the recent eye op !

The Stingray is quite tasty but I cant do much with it or little else until the wrist improves.

    Thank you, John.

The eye has recovered nicely, but vision is an issue until I get the correct lens in my glasses.....and you have to wait until a minimum of four weeks after the op for the eye to settle before having an eye test. The issue is double vision. Can't drive. Attempting to return to work today (being driven in) but not sure how well I'll cope.

Is your wrist in a splint or solid cast, John? Scaphoid or something else?

    Scaphoid broke into three !
Medical staff said it was rare for it to have done that and I have a solid cast up to elbow. Next appointment on 28th Dec when I hope it comes off !

Blimey! That does sound rare. Did mine earlier in the year but it was just the usual, single fracture. Hope all goes well with the mend.

I have a couple of gloss Nikko’s and they are a nice clear scope.
    Les..
Certainly are Les, very handsome and the rose tinted objective really seems to cut out glare although indoors ( 40m long barn) in early or late morning/evening light they can be a wee bit dark.
My own take on it of course, others may find them fine.

I'm going to have a go at giving the Stingray a light fettling tomorrow as the wrist is feeling much better. Last week, I had difficulty even holding it.

A slight resurrection of this Thread particularly with regards to scope choice !
After trying four different scopes I’ve managed to find a very nice gloss black Nikko Stirling Platinum 6x45 fixed mag which I’ll be mounting on the Stingray shortly. In addition to that I’ve also received a replacement small “pepperpot” muzzle stripper as the original was slightly scratched and best still, a replacement rear sight elevation screw with has enabled me to refit the complete rear sight back on the rifle !
Both items from Chambers Gun Spares, full marks to them !

PS. Wrist healed up fine !

    Nice one John 👍
It’s good to see you have a lovely gloss period scope to go on the Stingray.
And your open sights are complete once again.
Congrats on the wrist being back to normal.

Sincere thanks Les. the gun was one thing to smile about but the broken wrist was a real worry and it bloody hurt at the time !
