Seriously, though......just have a think for a few minutes if Weihrauch airguns didn't exist, or if they hadn't started to become popular over here in the late 70s / early 80s, how different things might have turned out? Would BSA and Webley have just sat on their laurels and just kept taking the easy money for as long as they could or would they have developed their ranges into more modern, more accurate and better engineered guns? Competition usually drives more competition and further development / improvements. But, as we're all too painfully aware, many of their better guns came far too late to salvage the situation......the Longbow, Tomahawk, Stingray, Xocet, Omega, Eclipse, Superstar etc........how different things may have been had the development and launches of these happened a few years earlier.......

It seems to have been the way with British industry in that era Tone; carry on making what you always did, smug in the fact that you're the best, then get overtaken by foreign competition and make a half arsed attempt to catch up before rolling over, belly up (air rifles, cars, motorcycles, the list goes on..)

Those better conditions will make things so much easier for our hard grafting host and for all attendees. And I think it will have been June 2019 when we saw you at Mick's that time in just those sort of awesome conditions, so it's been far too long.........Fingers crossed!

Totally agree unfortunately, this is why I used to go off on one about the 99, it should be the British manufacturers making the best suited rifle for our power limit.

Certainly an interesting one can you imagine Air Arms having no Weihrauch competition would that mean they would have never been born? Not to mention how triggers would have evolved 🤔

Maybe even Theoben could have had a massive influence if they had expanded a little eg springer break barrels alongside rammers much needed better triggers, perhaps single shot under levers both ram and spring alongside the Multishot.

In my opinion and much as I love them Theoben are the epitome of sitting on your laurels
The Rapid was (and still is) great
    I love my 2 rammers
But just a bit more development would have made a huge difference
For accuracy up to 80 yards there is no difference between my RAW and friends Steyrs which shows what could be achieved
    Pete
