BFTA Grand Prix at Meon Valley - Directions & nearby accommodation

Location: The Grand Prix will take place at Meon Valley Airgun Club’s ground at Hen Woods, which is located a short distance east of the village of West Meon, off of the West Meon Road. It’s best to use what3words – “unstable.romantics.dorm”. Alternatively, the nearest postcode to Hen Woods is GU32 1HY (Westbury House Nursing Home), and the entrance to the woods is another 100 yards further down the road, directly opposite a prominent convex mirror on the side of the road (you’ll also see signs for the shoot here). Turn onto the track, and continue along as it wends its way uphill, bearing left at the fork in the track - once again, you’ll spot the “FT this way” signs. Continue along the track for another half mile or so, and you’ll arrive at the part of the woods where the competition is being staged and traffic marshals will be on hand to direct you to the best place to park.

Accommodation: We’re really fortunate in having a goodly number of excellent pubs with accommodation in and around the villages of East Meon and West Meon, and just a few of them are listed below…

The Thomas Lord is located in West Meon, very close to our Hen Woods grounds, and has both rooms and a reputation for great pub food.

Ye Olde George Inn is also very close by in the neighbouring village of East Meon, and once again has accommodation and an excellent menu.

There are also a number of B&B options close by, including The Long House at East Meon (a converted barn and stables), whilst Upper Parsonage Farm (also in East Meon) offers camping, glamping and bed & breakfast.

Alternatively, numerous other local B&B establishments can be found on AirBnB

Those who enjoy a night under canvass might also consider the nearby Cedar Valley campsite, whilst less hardy souls may wish to opt for the Premier Inn at Petersfield (very handy, as its located just off the southbound carriageway of the A3)

PLEASE NOTE: Camping is not available at our Hen Woods ground!
