    Summer bash 2024 3rd and 4th August

I have got permission to use a field for the purposes of holding a bash.

Just a field with two portaloos. Water in bottles again. I can do a water run for those with big jugs or water carriers.

For those who have not been before, search Carrier Landscapes. The field is opposite their main entrance.

    Event and Payment Details.

    3rd and 4th August 2024 Boinger Bash

This will just be a weekend of chatting about guns, shooting, eating, drinking and getting to meet folks.

    THE PRICE

£25 including camping over the full weekend (3 nights or more if required)

£12.50 for just the one day attendance.

Part of this payment is for me to insure on the field so that folks without their own shooting insurance can attend.

    THE VENUE

    Quigley Bottom Shooting Club
    Station Road
    Upper Broughton
    Melton Mowbray
    Leicestershire
    LE14 3BQ

    HOW IT WORKS
Payment by bacs to the following account please:-

    Payee --------------- Mr N C Page
    Sort Code ---------- 40-47-86
    Account Number --- 43024318

If you put your BBS username as the reference I can then add your username to the paid list.

Cheques by arrangement to usual address.

I will not be organising a licensed bar on site but as your cars will be accessible inside the site I suggest you bring your own.

There will be a kettle with tea and coffee. No BBQ at this time.

There is no running water. A water run will be arranged for lunch time (ish).

There is no rubbish disposal. Please sort your waste into burnable, aluminium cans to go to charity and glass. It is hoped you can take some glass home with you.

For a precise destination please google Carrier Landscapes. The gate entrance is 50m down the road opposite Carrier Landscapes

Put me down on proviso, just need to make sure not expected or being dragged off for Birthday as mentioned on other thread.
I believe I've worked out funds to stay over near by and potentially hire a driver if I cannot get a lift (if you think you can help just tell me your Days and I'll see if I can match things up).

I will attempt to bring a Cake so please make me aware of any allergies even if you dont intend to eat it so theres minimal risk of people in A&E rather than enjoying their weekend shooting.

Do not, I repeat do not sing.

Thanks Neil for putting on another great bash for us lot.

As previously said, its definitely all about yer mates and not necessarily the shooting. But as for what you bring, absolutely no-one will look down on you for what you have or havent got. A brilliant bash always enjoyed by all. Just superb!!!!

I don't think that chatting about catapults on the bash thread was actually ever the issue to be honest.

It’s not all about the airguns. A big part of people returning time and again is the friendship, camaraderie, common interest and the great fun we have whether it be shooting guns, talking guns or anything else. Being able to camp, drink and sit around a night-time fire is a real bonus and enjoyed by many.

Way back when, in 2012, when The Bash was a mere seedling of an idea in my, and a few other enthusiasts' minds, the "Spring Gun Gathering" was dreamt up to be about springer enthusiasts wanting to get together to learn more about their guns, share ideas about tuning etc., in a more relaxed, non-competitive environment.

A location wasn't decided and then Uncle Mick volunteered to take it all on. The organising, running, insuring etc., providing a wonderfully relaxed and all-inclusive environment in which people could meet, shoot their guns, talk with others, try out other people's guns, talk technical etc., etc.....

The camping became an integral part of these gatherings which, by 2014, became known as "The Boinger Bash". As outlined above, for some the shooting may have become secondary and it's about meeting up with like-minded individuals who have become such good friends over the years. And we're talking the very, very bestest of friendships here. Friendships that stand the test of time.

When Mick was no longer able to hold these events for us any longer, Neil and Tina stood up to the task in hand and deliver it wonderfully, so accurately continuing with the flavour, feel and ethos that went before at Quigley Hollow. Thank you.

Powerplants are varied. Yes, the meets centre mainly around the springer, beloved by so many of us. But all powerplants are welcome. Pistol and rifle. It matters not as long as it's legal and used safely. Many of us tend to like other similar hobbies too, like catapults and bows, and they're more than welcome, too. Indeed, how many of us shot with a catapult before managing to get their first airgun? I know I did, and it sorted out a fair few rats on the canal for a few years whilst fishing.

So, it's all about being friendly, welcoming and all-inclusive. A few more people have broken their Bash ducks over the last two meets and have become fully paid-up and committed fans, due to the wonderful atmosphere and accepting nature of Bash stalwarts. The Bash is everything an individual wants it to be and long may the Spirit of The Boing continue.
    Well put guys

I genuinely think (and I know I wouldn't be the only one) that I could attend the bash and have a great time without even getting my guns out of the car. It's so much more than just turning up and shooting in a field. Friendships have been forged over the years that the bash has brought us all together, and the shooting is more of a bonus that compliments the warm social environment we all enjoy

Thursday is a nice day to arrive Paul. Quietly relaxing and plenty of space on the range if you want to shoot. Also an opportunity to help Neil with any last minute setting up if needed.
