Yes, it was Gary from Lincoln, Pete. I think it will be mainly pistols, though. A junior Webley rifle and a Gamo PCP was mentioned, too. He sort of fleetingly mentioned some others; I'll contact him and see if he has anything suitable.

    Non-launch of zeroing session!

Well, I was hoping to get that new-to-me HW97 roughly zeroed in yesterday (I usually aim to have a .177 set up so that it's shooting about 10mm low at around ten yards in the garden).

But..My favourite mounts are the Sportsmatch one piece, double screw items. My ideal scope of choice would have been the 2-7x32 Airmax. But I'd always read that it was too short to fit in a one-piece mount. So I'd gone for the Vantage version instead. AND......that's too short, too. It won't fit in the "scope saddle" by about 3mm. Bugger! That'll teach me to check in future!

Anyways, two piece double screw mounts duly ordered from JSR. Hopefully they'll land today and I can have another play. And the one-piece can go onto something else.

    Every day's a school day!

The sciatica has been pretty relentless since my back went again 3 weeks ago
I am going to have to make the hotel or camp all tonight to ensure I can get a room if needed

Sorry to hear this Pete. I hope you get better very soon. Are you having any treatment / doing any exercises etc? Bloody horrible are shot backs and resulting sciatica etc.

Maybe better to go for the more comfortable hotel option?

Although a few bevvies around the fire will help ease the pain at night. But you'll pay the price in the morning.

Sorry to hear that Pete, i know how you feel. I had to have a week off work with mine. Arrived at a customers house with a bag of tile adhesive, went to put it down and Bang!!! Here we go again. Spent a whole week hobbling around like i'd pooed me pants until it started to settle down!!!

Ouch! Bloody horrible, isn't it, Mike? Sometimes all it takes to set mine off is an innocent slight lean / bend forward. No prior warning signs or anything. Just BANG, "here we go again" for anything between a couple of days and a few months!

Glad you're over it now and best wishes to Pete for a speedy recovery.
