No shooting opportunities yesterday, as we were busy all day helping a good family friend out who has just undergone surgery and radiotherapy. However, whilst the wife was driving, if I tried to focus on small parts of the wiper blades as they were parked on the screen, with and without glasses, they didn't seem any more blurry with my glasses on. And I'd guess those marks were at about the same distance as my foresight will have been, so I must give it another try very soon whilst wearing my glasses.

Diopters / peep sights are very hard to come by, re new ones there are BSA/ Gamo ones but they are cheap & nasty, then there are Precihole ones but they are very modern looking.
I bought an Original model 50 to have as a diopter rifle, not realising how hard such sights were to get hold of, nor how expensive. I have now got sights for it but they cost more than the rifle
The only place you'll find decent old ones is on a forum sales page tbh.
It's cheaper to buy a rifle with them already on than buy just the sights believe it or not !
Payday today, and the bash is barely more than a month away

Yep, I've tentatively searched them out for years and a sturdy "sporting" rear peep seems so hard to come by now. Real shame. And the last time I tried (before the op) I was struggling with match style diopter sights - maybe having a larger ring element at the front might help with them?
On some of my searches I did come across some stuff at Brownell's, like Ghost Sights. Which seem to have a much larger hole. Has anyone ever used these / have experience of them?
I don't have the right equipment, but I've often wondered if a nice, sturdy little peep rear could be made from a scope mount. Then fix on a plate with the hole which would have manual screw adjustment, pretty much like the older Webley pistols / Tempest type of arrangement. A little crude and a little more fiddly and time consuming to get zeroed, but would hold zero forever and not prone to being inadvertently knocked out of zero once set.

Any progress on the beer discovery front?
I "got into" many of the IPAs about three years ago. Never quite loved the really "citrusy" ones and sort of lost my love for them one night last Summer when I overdid it on some really strong ones!
As said, don't really care much for those citrusy ones. But the more traditional, English style ones I DO like. Like the Shepherd Neame one (brown bottle, orange label) and the Marston's Old Empire. The Shepherd Neame Old Kentish Ale is a favourite of mine, too.
But not wanting to (and wary of) making recommendations, as tastes vary so wildly.......

I've started to enjoy St Austell Proper Job IPA. Extra hops so that might make it a bit too citrusy for you.
The more I think I know, the more I realise the less I know.
Proper Job was the first IPA that I tried (about three years or so ago) and was responsible for my IPA exploration. I can still enjoy one now occasionally. Not too citrusy. But I've definitely gone off the Brew Dogs and hazy IPAs. Brew Dog Rattle and Rum is probably the worst beer I've ever tried.

No, afraid not, I did buy a pack of Brewdog Punk IPA but haven't tried it. It gets to evening time & I look at it and think, " uggh, bloating & numerous nocturnal trips to the toilet" & open a bottle of wine instead.
I'm probably going to bring loads of different beers & just hope they work
The ones I don't like will be going on The Table marked "free".
