Love a 'proper' IPA - Shepherd Neame is superb, Proper Job really good, Deuachar's when it was brewed in the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh using proper hops was sublime. Hate all this Brew Dog and American IPA pish, like drinking a can of Lilt with some bevvy in it!
I came across some of these last night whilst looking at peep and ghost sights on YouTube, Pete. They sound very interesting and certainly worth a tr if I can get some.
Weirdly......I managed to have a quick play with my little 24D earlier. Shooting at six yards to test for Bell Target this evening. Tried with and without glasses. With glasses - target sharp but foresight slightly blurry. No glasses - target more blurry, foresight sharper. Glasses won.
I then messaged Gary to see what time the Bell Target was starting. Bugger! It's next week instead; he'd got his dates mixed up!
Next week it is, then......

I find alot of IPAs are like that, I may be a case of born too late but that nice cold Can of Abbotts the otherweek really hit to spot so I think I'll grab some more when I can.

I find Abbott's okay.
To be fair I can enjoy a very wide range of beers. As said previously I have sorta gone off those more USA inspired citrusy IPAs, but do like the stronger, more traditional English ones.
Some of the very strong French and Belgian Abbey beers are interesting, too.
Some of the Continental lagers that some seem to rate I find quite bland - like Madri, San Miguel, Poretti etc. And I was really disappointed with the Asahi when I tried it last year. But many of these are brewed over here now and, apparently, do not represent the originals accurately?
That same old caveat, though....we all like different things, have different palettes and that can alter from day to day.....
Great fun trying them all!

Lagers I tend to avoid bar Tennants super as it upsets my stomach, did find a Russian one that was alright but for obvious reasons it's a no go now.
If in attendance I'll likely stick to fizz, it doesn't fight the meds and wont result in a destroyed potaloo.

Got curious & opened a tin of Brewdog "punk IPA", bland and fizzy with a hint of grapefruit. Doesn't taste like it contains alcohols.
Now on a bottle of Poretti, made by Carlsberg UK, bland with a hint of hops.
Looks like I've got a lot of bland beers lol. Think I'll move on to my TV wine.....

Doncaster Indoor Airgun Range Meet Up Sat 18th Jan 2025. It's going to be a great weekend !
I had a fair spell of trying different beers although most of the bitters that i enjoyed made me quite heady. Regarding the lagers, i totally get the dislike for some of those although with Asahi, i'd really recommend a retest of that, very chilled on a hot summer afternoon. one of my favourites.!!!
Their Glasswares definately pretty, Barstaff let us liberate one as we were polite to ask about buying one rather than just taking it, back when there was a Pub round the corner and we had a hedge I'd be forever finding empty glasses in it so dread to think what their Glassware bill was.
