Probably could strap a Grom to the back of that and treat it like luggage.

As for the seal, the shoulders of the seal didn't stand proud of the piston, so I didn't mess with it, it just went straight in.

Also managed to get a full size Ox spring in the old Original 50, it's like a Bull Worker (showing my age here) to cock, but doesn't even manage 7 ft/lbs maybe it would do more if the spring was shorter ? The preload tension on it is terrifying tbh

Had a look at why I can't zero the diopter, and it was glaringly obvious, the front sight is about 10mm too short as the viewing hole in the diopter is a lot higher on the back of the chamber than the standard open sights.

On another note, I'm thinking the more rain we have now the better the odds of a sunny bash surely ?

Oh dear, yes, get that Ox removed and shorten it or replace with something more suitable. It won't do the old girl any good at all with all that excess strain. As you mention, the power might well go up once you have shortened / replaced it, too. Careful as you go with all that preload......

Will you be able to raise the front sight?

My older brother (only by 11 months) is the same as me as was my Dad. It’s got to have something to do with all the Leprachauns in Ireland I reckon

I rode to Taunton with my mate today to get his Triumph Tiger serviced and on the way - crossed the River Tone but I had to smile when I passed a sign pointing to a place called Bradford-on-Tone Bradford being MikeHW45’s surname .

BTW, I traded in my Ninja650 a few weeks ago for a 2023 Triumph Bobber Chrome and I’m loving it - what a torquey engine !!!

Cheers for the family insight, Pauly.

Bradford-on-Tone, eh? And River Tone? Hush about the Mike-on-Tone bit, though!

Congratulations on acquiring the Triumph, matey. I love big twins. I still have the 900SS, although it hasn't been used for some time. Big Vs and parallel twins configured to fire like a V have so much grunty, torquey character. The fact that you can plant both feet firmly on the ground must be a huge, confidence-inspiring bonus.

    Enjoy, Pauly.

    The Predator

..is now in its new lair. It has been a privilege to give this rare rifle a caring home for 34 years and it has now gone to live with its creator's son. In time, it might bear some offspring...

Both my .22 45's like hobbys. Very consistant with them!

That spring is definitely coming out, no worries there, it's making less power than the standard spring, or what was in it when I got it, might not be standard I suppose.

I think I can make a raiser for the front sight, it clamps onto a pair of grooves. There's a bit of ally in the garage that might do, looks like a job that can be done with a hacksaw and file.

Two small 4 mm thick pieces that are the length of the rails, and 10mm high, with two grooves filed out on the outsides at the top, two rebates on the insides at the bottom leaving a V to clamp the rails, drilled & threaded to take one or maybe two small bolts to tighten it onto the barrel rails should do it. Not ditching the diopter at this point, it's cost me more than the ruddy rifle !

I had been wondering about that too, whilst also fearing for my emaciated wallet.
