Summer bash 2024 3rd and 4th August

It's almost perfect timing into another bash although i'll go back to work for a couple of days in between. We've got a fair bit of stuff planned through August so should be good fun!!!

In all honesty, I wanted to bring a couple of projects I've been working on, in between paying jobs - but as you've accurately predicted, they're very much still in bits. Hopefully they'll be ready for the September Bash.
I did find time to zero a 97 and an LGV just yesterday, so I've got a couple to bring along.
I'm delivering a stock this morning then working again - my plan is to get a few minutes to myself this evening to finish building and zero a bucket slaying PCP to bring along ( but realistically, there's more chance of me accepting an invitation to a pool party at Barrymore's than there is finding time in this house )

LGV and 97 zeroed with a week to go. Sounding ominous, Pete.

I've just ordered a Reximex Myth in .22 for farm work at around 15 - 20 yards and thought the Simmons would be a good scope for the job but the 2-7x32 will be perfect.

There are overnight closures on the A46 which start at 8pm.
This may affect the go kart junction.
Fully open during the day now.

I met a very nice young gentleman today who has just returned to air gunning
Gone in at the top with an ultimate springer and CP scope with a view to competing in HFT

Discussed reduced cylinders etc

Then a man even older than I joined the conversation with tales of 30 years of beating. His main ambition was to tell us how powerful his guns had been and how you could take down certain quarry ( which in my FAC days needed1000ft lbs) with sub 12 if you aimed for the right place. Told him I felt different.
Idiots! Just when you think you've seen them all up pops a new one!

They never cease to dumbfound, Pete. As you say, sometimes you'll go for such a long time without hearing such nonsense and this fools you into thinking that everyone is more sensible and enlightened these days. Then one crawls out from under a rock.....

Gutted to say that I'm not going to make the full weekend for the Bash now. Should still be able to get down for one day, probably the Saturday but nowt more. Bugger.

TonyL - I'll still bring the 50s Anniversary for you to have a go with.

As others have said, Paul, one day is better than nothing. A fair few people do only manage to get for the one day, so you're not alone. You'll still have a wonderful time amongst brilliant people. And the Saturday is always the busier day.

I've just checked the Met office site. The weather looks good from today until at least Sunday.

Yep, I'd been looking on the BBC Westher site. Showing just a couple of very minor downward blips early Thursday and late Friday, but otherwise looking really good. And, fingers crossed, those minor blips might disappear as we get closer still.

Looks like Neil's powers of persuasion have come up trumps again. How does he do it?

I hope to be there Thurs/Fri and possibly Saturday and if it's busy on Saturday I'll leave the benches for the others. I'll be sporting a new Gillet with lovely deep pockets so at least 2 pellet types won't get spilled all over the field.

We could indeed, in fact I'm off over there now for the afternoon, SWMBO has given me the green light No wind and its nice & warm.
