The supersport is no where near as tight as some of my other rifles, I'm just a bit baffled about it getting looser all the way down the barrel. Don't suppose I'll really know until I get to shoot it.

The 35 gets very tight at the end, and it's a shortened barrel, again I'll have to shoot it. Bad weather & family issues have kept me from visiting my local range for what seems like months.

What would you apply the JB compound with ?

I've got a gun tuff rodding kit, and a napier pull through kit, but the napier kit broke the second time I used it !

Knotted string. If you can find decent string. Garden centres are a good place to look.

    Questions are.

    1) Dan. Do you want me in the car? No problem at all if that's a "no" as I can drive myself and I most certainly wouldn't be offended if you don't want me in your car.

    2) Happy to attend and, obviously, looking forward to it. Is everyone else okay with me coming and potentially coughing like a twat most of the day?
Everyone has had or got this, pop a mask on for the car trip & coughing fits if possible. You can't be worse than my parents & it didn't stop them going to Spain this week.

The perfect rough use / wet weather gun.

So, you thinking 95 and Theoben too?

I got the supersport out last night & it convinced me to take it & leave the others in the cabinet

He'll be about from about 7.30 to unlock gates etc. Due to issues with some of the other businesses there, parking might be tight and we may have to double park etc.

There is the log burner there and even hot water bottles, but Brian says it'll be cold, so be prepared and dress accordingly.

He has a new auto change target that he's been perfecting and it looks like we're going to be testing the prototype if he can get it finished tonight.

There's all us lot, plus all lanes on the other half are booked up for all day, so there will be plenty of people there. Atmosphere will be great.

    Can't wait.

    BOING!

Big coat, long johns, thick socks, scarf & woolly hat are defo on the list.

Car sharing where possible sounds like a good idea, I'll text Paul seeing as I'm driving past his house on the way there.

    The new target sounds interesting.

I've slept on the CLX & decided to wait seeing as I'm skint

I'd never have guessed that Neil, do you put the barrel in a vice & thread the string through & then pull it one way then the other ?

I wonder if the 35 was shortened from the breech end? Much more involved, but retaining the choke?

Yes, yes, yes to the majority of that. Think I'd wait a while on the CLX.....

I'll have to take the mod off & have a look, I suppose it could well have been considering who it came from.

Yeah, I just was thinking the walnut stocked ones will sell out, but then having looked at them online I prefer the beech ones

Yes, Paul Mach 1.5 wasn't it? He knew the Venom and V-Mach people very well and I'm sure I heard in the past that they would shorten them the more involved "proper" way.

For a "working gun" I'd often favour beech myself, too. Regarding the CLX, personally I'd much sooner hang fire and get owners' feedback first. I really, really hope they've got it right. But.......

    I'm back!

Was still getting the 'adult content' warning from Vodafone every time I tried to log on here with the new phone, but they seem to have sorted my account since I phoned them. Absolutely bizarre!

Really looking forward to tomorrow. Still not sure which rifles to bring but it'll likely be something German unless the Longbow sneaks in.
