Glad I used 2 sided tap. Ready to glue this one on. Has everything except a picture of the pistol instead of a rifle.
Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.
Steve,
Could you imagine putting 6 different labels (sized the same) taped up there then have your readers choose their favorite. Think I sent you enough different versions. Just a thought my friend.

Wow Mr. Garvin nailed it! Sent two different versions. I pretty torn between the two right now? Open to thoughts. Thanks so much for your contribution to this project Danny.
Also today the period oil tin came. It is Singer Household oil which has older metal spout and cap so comtempory with the pistol. It would have been an oil many in the US would have used at the time. All done except for label gluing.

I prefer the one on the right
Its over all glued up, thanks all for following the journey and Danny for the final touch. I ended up copying the US patent drawings on vellum and put them in the case to take out at a show. Shows the detail of how they work. One of my favorite last minute details was the notch in the oil can divider for the spout to create a separate area for the keys.
It looks beautiful Steve. Congratulations on your fine work.

What a most excellent looking set. Fantastic work, and Danny’s label is the cherry on top.
They look a fine cased pair Steve - well done. I love the final result.
