hello all looking for a pistol to make into a mini carbine for Bell Target very popular on the east coast
anyone own either of the above ? pros & cons does the std crosman stock fit
have asked for help on the general thread and thanks for all the replies i will see what you guys think maybe put a wanted
advert on here if its what i need , are the any other options not looking for match accuracy just something for fun a couple of evenings a week c02 or pcp cant shoot springers would need a bull as big as a beach ball

I have the 2300t and the rear stock will fit.

There are numerous differences between the two, but the biggest is the 2300s has a Williams notch sight compared with the 2300t's LPA MIM rear sight and this probably accounts for a significant proportion of the £140 price premium of the 't'.

However, IMHO both rear sights will be less than ideal when used with the much reduced eye relief of a mini carbine and may also lack enough adjustment in their elevation.

You may struggle to use a carbine for bell target as the sight radius is very short.

What about the SMK/Artemis CP2 or Diana chaser in the states?

Pistol/carbine/rifle format with open sights

The rifle format would be ideal, silencer too for volume


Springer wise, you mention you are wary of them but the HW30 /beeman R7 at 6ftlb (bell target power) is almost recoilless and very very accurate! You can’t miss! The weight of it (heavier than a crosman/lighter than a full rifle) will add stability when standing

Thanks to you both for your input short sight base yes your right never thought of that i have a hw77 rear sight if i went the metal breach way but not sure if that would be any good forward of the breach mmmm thinking
Hw30 had seen 1 in skeggy gunshop very small like a kids gun do they fit adults im 6 foot though being a HW will have good barrel & trigger 2 most important things for me will call into shop have a look woman in there knows lots about bell target and shoots in a lot.

The HW30 would be my top choice.

Very easy to cock. Light. Excellent barrel and superb trigger. Sublime firing manners. You might need to do the "anti-galling" mod to stop the cocking lever eating away at the cylinder. Once done (if needed), perfect.

HW30 seems quite popular i might put a wanted add up for 1 and try it out , i have a 2240 now just need a .177 barrel for it either of a 1377 crosman or turn 1 down fronm a rifle we will see keep you posted.

Well got the .177 barrel so that can be done also been offered a hw30 maybe i should have both
see what works best for me. do like the little HW30 though

Have you decided on whether you'll go in the steel breech direction for the 2240 yet? You'll need the .177 version of the kit, if so. Or, if sticking with the plastic breech, a .177 probe.

but you have got me thinking about the HW30 i may just buy that on your advice sell the 240 & the 1377 both have stocks on was an idea but as someone also put very short sight base
