Hi all,
I’ve recently bought a Katran C and am looking to buy a compressor to charge it and my 300 bar diving tank. I’m not wanting to spend a lot and was looking at the tuxing for around £160, can anyone recommend one around the £150-£200 mark? Ideally I need it to run from 240v and not just a 12v car battery. All help and advice appreciated.
Many thanks

agreed. and if you do, it's last about 5 minutes...
I use my yong heng to fill a (300 bar) dive bottle to 230 bar. Still takes a little while, with a few cooling breaks, and I believe they are around £250-£300 new. I dont use much air over the course of a year so that works for me.
If you really need 300 bar, and expect to fill it fairly regularly, you'll need to spend more.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. But not lathes. I have too many lathes. Thanks, JB.
My Yong heng fills my 300bar 3ltr bottle from 210 to 300 bar not a problem - done that at least 50 or 60 times - i know i'm one of the lucky one's that got a goodun but don't rule out these yong heng's.
Steve.
PS - up grade the water pump and add a fan.
There are some larger Chinese compressors, twin cylinder in a frame, starting around £300-£350, they sell for filling cylinders but only do around 50lpm & a 12l 300 bar is 3600L
I agree.. and I've added a fan, a cooling radiator, and exhaust rose (around the 2nd stage), cooling for the pipework, and an upgraded pump.. my point wasn't that the Yong heng is no good; quite the opposite, they can indeed do the job, but it's not a £150 pump as per the OP's budget.
