Sussex Interclub HFT - end-of-year event (20 Oct)
Hi All
Apologies for the lateness of the post.
SIHFT 2024 end of season shoot is nearly upon us. Sunday 20th October sees us gather at Buxted, pretty much all to the usual format apart from there will be 5 extra targets that will be "extreme". They will be no longer than 45 yards but may be smaller kills. These will be fitted around the course and painted a different colour. There will be a separate card issued to mark these. It will be 5 points for knocking it over -2 for anything else. A glittering trophy made out of the finest material will be issued to the person who scored the highest for these targets.
The competition is open to all safe shooters of sub 12lb ft air rifles who are members of the hosting clubs (Buxted, Ford, Horsham, MVAC & Mile Oak), plus any member of Iden Fern, MAD and Bisley.
Other individuals will also be welcomed; all we ask is for a brief heads up that you would like to join us by dropping me a PM.
The competition is scheduled to start at 10:00, immediately following the safety briefing. As you know, you must be at the Safety Brief if you wish to enter the comp.
Booking in will commence around 08:30 and the event will have catering, care of our on site catering which is under new management. Darren’s grub will keep you fed and watered.
Please remember that if you wish to partner a specific person or persons (max 3, including you), do not leave booking in too late so that we are more likely to be able to ensure a suitable peg is available.
Please drive slowly (walking pace) through the farm and park sensibly not blocking stables, etc. please use the entrance below and park two wheels on the track two off. Parking in coned off area is only for course setters, catering & SIHFT organisers.
You all know where we are but if you don’t.
the entrance the farmer wants us to use….

Weather update
Hi all.
Just got off the phone from a natter with Team Buxted about Ashley; the UK's first named storm of the season.
Unlike our shooty friends in the North and North West, for who cancellation of events tomorrow is a no-brainer, we currently feel that it will remain safe here for the SIHFT end-of-year event to go ahead.
So ... while keeping a weather eye (see what I did there) open for any last minute change, should Ashley decide to turn southward, we are GO GO GO.
🙂

And a final (hopefully) post about tomorrow's end-of-year event.
Annoucing one change to the historical format.
After a chat with all of the five SIHFT host club leads, it has been unanimously decided that we will follow a practice adopted some years ago by UKAHFT at the Gathering.
As this year's SIHFT event does include a standard UKAHFT 30 target course, entrants achieving a score which would earn them a 5th Gold Badge, will be awarded a SIHFT Platinum.
There are four people who could be in line for this, coincidentally each from different participating clubs and from two different classes. You probably know who you are and we hope to see you tomorrow
