    Black boy pellets

Although not very PC these days has anyone got any?
I spotted some on and got me thinking how common they are?

'The Black Boy' always struck me as an odd name for a public house, most of these have been rebranded with Caucasian children working as chimney-sweeps (as if that is much better) or other re-interpretations of the idea.

However, these pellets are very much explicit in their 'British Empire' symbolism.

I'm not sure what it is supposed to mean? If it was a white woman with red hair, and they called it 'Red Girl' pellets what would that mean?

I know John Darling used Danish 'Black Box' pellets when he was a professional pest-controller in the 1970s, but that is because the pellets came in a black carton.

Advertising and marketing is a weird part of human culture.

Hmm. Not seen the boxes before. Tins yes, boxes not. Interesting.

The attraction of that serial number is not how low it is but that it's in the 21000s and the discreet No 3 under it
Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.

I didn't see the last digit '4' ... what is the meaning of the mystery 3 you allude to?

I actually don't collect Paper / Cardboard pellet boxes.
    Too expensive , too fragile.
    Hence tins only

Curious design, they look like 'cat slugs'.

The boxes were advertised just prior to WW1, while the tins date from the 1930s.
