I use it to oil all my guns' blued steel.
I've not found a better product yet.

And what do you think of it?
Where on the gun would most of you use it? Just cleaning or for any lubrication requirements?
The blurb for this long-established wonder product suggest it has so many uses.
I've just ordered some Abbey Silicone Gun Oil 35 from our sponsors. This has served me well for many, many years (wiping down, waterproofing, proofing against finger marks etc.) and a small dropper bottle goes a very long way and lasts me for years. But the Ballistol has always intrigued and it isn't expensive, so I added it to my JSR order.

Opportunity is missed by most people, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Bought my first bottle from Guns International, Barnsley over twenty years ago and I’ve been using it ever since !
Great product for use on metal, wood and leather and as you say, not expensive. Bought my last, a 500 ml can off Amaz !

Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.
I use both Ballistol Universal Oil and Browning Legia spray. Not so keen on the smell of the Ballistol, but it works. Use for external surfaces of airguns and routine shotgun cleaning. Both are good.
For pivot points ie airgun triggers I’d still use something along the lines of PH/Bisley oil in the tin can with the spout, and a suitable grease still for barrel pivots etc.
I have never used it as I find Napier gun oil in the dropper bottles works well for me.
I mix in a bit of Tungsten disulfide powder with it in a separate bottle to use as a light lube for triggers etc.
If you put some on a cloth or paper towel and place it in a zip loc bag in a day or so the scent airs out. Then you can apply it without the odor that some guys (and gals) don't like.
I used it on my guns....missus hates the smell ha
Cheers for all the feedback so far, chaps.
John, I'm intrigued.....Josie uses it on the doggies? Pray tell!![]()

I have used Ballistol for years. Always give a wipe over the rifle steel parts after every outing but only on the non moving parts. Moly grease used for pivots etc.
I have used it on guitar fretboards too where it does a good job or nourishing the wood.

I use my homemade lube on my guns because it's always raining here.
It's similar to an American recipe called Eds Red.
I dissolve as much 100% pure technical grade Lanolin in White Spirit as the spirit will carry, run it through a paper filter, then add a little Dexron 3 transmission fluid. It dries to a slightly waxy finish, not the most attractive, but it sheds water like a ducks back.
