    Loose Stock Screws in Springers.

I own a couple of springers, a Webley Stingray .177 and a BSA Meteor .22 whose stock screws require tightening after about ten shots or so. Both shoot well with no apparent issues and all screws appear to be in good order as do the seatings.
What can be done to remedy the situation, new screws, strip down and service or is there a simple solution maybe ?
    Thanks.

Should add, the Stingray is putting out 10.3 ft lbs. The Meteor I’ve yet to check.

Would that not seal things in for good Mick or can the seal be "broken" later ?

It works more than a nylock nut than a permanent glue, John.

Blue loctite is fine. Don’t use Green or Red

Sorry to ask a stupid question John but does the Meteor have it's castellated grip washers?
The more I think I know, the more I realise the less I know.

Yes, all three do Tom and they tighten firmly when pressured, no slackness !

It should have flat washer at the trigger guard but that does not explain the other two.
unless there's a naughty spring in there.

If you haven'tgot any loctite, try to pinch a blob of nail varnish off a lady friend ( or the wife) . It works just as well as screwloc and doesn't effect disassembly.
Always wanting Webley or BSA scorpion pistols or bits. Got the minters, now need scrappers, projects or parts WHY please

my lightning kept loosening the forestock screws and also the scope was affected. i replaced the screws with stainless allen screws and a bit of loctite,
One snapped flush soon after and it was a begger to get out.
In the end i cut a few coils off the spring, just so there was just a tad of preload and it is now fine at 9 ftlbs.

I would check the bedding of the action in the stock and degrease screw well and use a wire brush to get to the thread root, then the blue locktite will stick better .

Yes, interesting based on the assumption grease/oil/lubricant has found its way in the screw seatings over the years as well as the bedding area ?

whilst blue loctite is the "right" answer, I've had good results with a small o-ring under the screw head..
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
