The 125 and 135 Hatsans are impressive with their quattro triggers.
    Definitely built to last.
However, they need a proper lube job as they come a bit dry and I put Aussie seals in them as well.
As big as a M1 Garand but I like that as they suit my build.

Sold my 80 off after buying the first one and bought them in .177,.22 as well.
That was some years ago and I still have them all with zero issues.
At hunting distances, they are just as accurate as anything else.

This was almost exactly the same route that I took. A MK 1 90 in .22 flavour for £150 from a good shooting Chum (RIP Simon), then tried a .177 barrel - horrible - then tried a .25 flavour K barrel and fell for it. With H&N's it gives a sublime shot cycle and a good accuracy out to 50m. It also give the targets a good 'ol thump'.

The problem with .25 lies in the UK legal limit. For 12 ft lbs using the lightest 'quality' .25 pellet on the market (the H & N FTT at 20 grain) you would be achieving a squeak over 500 ft sec. I suspect-and this is borne out by observation- a number of .25 rifles especially the HW80 and HW90 will be overpowered without the user being aware of it. I have personally tested a good number of HW80's over my chrono and surprised the owner with how overpowered they are.
I am a lover of quirky rifles and I regard .25 legal limit as a bit of fun for a short while. The ammo is expensive and learning the hold over required to hit targets over distance is an interesting challenge to say the least.
The one thing that makes owning HW80 and to a lesser extent the HW90 in .25 is that when you get fed up with .25 it will take you only a short while to change barrels back to a smaller calibre.
Personally I think I have quite a bit of experience with .25. I have owned a .25 FAC Rapid which was to me the closest thing to a .22LR you could own as an air rifle. I also bought a .25 Webley Patriot for very little money which gets an outing every so often to see that it is still performing properly. In legal limit I have a .25 HW80 which I occasionally use at the club only because I was given a load of .25 ammunition which I don't want to waste.
Give it a try by all means but I strongly recommend that you only use a HW80 or HW90 where a calibre change is just so easy if -and when- you get bored with it!

Thanks for the thoughts, again. It will be chiefly for fun, I don't hunt (apart from occasional rats on the feeders about 5 yards from the kitchen, hardly hunting!) or shoot at over 20 yards.
Yes, was surprised at the cost of ammo, but a tin of pellets will probably last me quite a while. I tend to go through 'fads' of shooting a particular gun for a while, then put it away for a year or more. The current exceptions are the 2013 .22 Meteor, set up for short range rats, the newish SMK19 .22 which has settled down nicely, & my first PCP, a Kral in .22, which I'm still playing with.
