A Springer guy finally buys a PCP powerhouse

I finally bought my 1st PCP airgun. It is a US made Airforce SS Condor .25 cal with a 24 inch baffled barrel.

I seldom attend auctions, the prices are too high. After hammer fees, taxes, transfer fees, insurance, and shipping the final auction price is always too bloody high.

Last night different, I entered a live auction; where were no other bidders. My 1st offer low ball was accepted, I was shocked.

The rifle includes 4x16 x50mm scope and accessories to I 'll post a pic when post arrives.

I made a similar change to a pcp last year having called in to a shop that was closing down. I was looking to purchase pellets but came away with my first pcp as well as the pellets.
I still own and use my Original 45 which I picked up in the mid eighties and until this time I had never even touched a pcp. Operating the pcp is quite a doddle with no need for leverage to ready the next shot although I understand refilling with a hand pump can be labour intensive. My only word of caution is beware of the number of pellets you can easily go through, especially if your pcp is the self loading type. That pcp came with two 12 shot magazines and will rapidly eat two dozen pellets in a few minutes.
I now own two pcp rifles and a pistol. But I still take my springers out regularly, I am very attached to my Original 45 and my wife has taken a liking to a BSA CS that I have just finished resurecting.
Good luck with your new playmate.

I’m shocked! I have a hard time looking at them let alone having one in my prewar house. Lol

Now you've crossed over to the Dark Side (PCPs) Randy, we'll have to put you on Ignore here in Collectables.

I have the UK equivalent, the Gunpower Stealth. I recently splashed out on a new carbon buddy bottle and a slip on shoulder stock.
I have been watching the Airforce owners videos on YouTube and they are unbelievable. Our measly 12ft/lbs seems wasted on this platform. Some of the larger calibres are producing eye watering power figures.

Thank you for support and kind words

Please excuse my mistake of posting about PCP in the vintage section, again thank you for all the supportive comments. PCP is going to be a whole new airgunning experience after all these years as a springer guy.

High power & Low price Appeal

I bought the Condor SS because no one bid on it, I think I was the only bidder at the auction. The PB gun laws are not stringent in most part of the country so these powerful PCP are really ignored by most Americans who favor their AR-15's.

No I'm sure it's OK to post about PCPs in collectables. I was only joking.
