    Haenel 311 target rifle value?

I have one of these to sell on behalf of a friend. I've not seen one in the flesh before. I've looked in the late Dennis Hiller's book and he rated them quite highly but his valuation is many years out of date. The gun is in fair to good condition, fitted with a Beeman/Williams peep sight. Well used but not abused would be a fair description. Has anyone any experience of selling one of these rifles as I have no idea of the value?

Auction net shows one that sold for £100.

The Beeman sight is not original but worth at least £100 on its own.

As the rifle doesn’t have the original Haenal rear-sight it’s worth less than a complete one.

If it was me, I’d split the sight and the rifle.

Sell the sight for £120, sell the rifle for £120.

Without the sight, the rifle would be almost worthless.
The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

It’s not the correct sight so the rifle is of no value to a collector, a cheap diopter small scope or putting a rearsight on the adapter by the tap would make it useable as a plinker or informal target rifle.

    Haenel 311 .

Many thanks for the info. I appreciate that the lack of the genuine sight could be a problem. I think I'll fit a generic diopter sight and hang on to the Beeman sight. This would make it a splendid bell target rifle.

Although the cocking is one of those weird bolt-lever things, it was apparently a very accurate rifle. A modest Milbro or Air Arms diopter would get it back in the game. And you can put the Beeman on a sporting rifle were it belongs.
