Out of test = not a lot!
I have just dug two air bottles out of the back of my gun cupboard - they are:
3 Lt - 232 bar - with carrying straps/handle
Takes an A clamp - no hose/gauge.
Manufactured 11/97 currently out of test.
12 Lt - 232 bar - with rubber boot & mesh cover sleeve
Takes an A clamp - no hose/gauge.
Manufactured 11/97 currently out of test.
Both are in pretty good nick and I think they should sail through
the test.
What are they worth.?
Cheers Gary

Yeah, get them tested Gary, worth sod all without it...

The big one must be worth £70-£80 ?

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
How big - Put it this way it has expanded to include my cupboards in my workshop, Kitchen and 3 other rooms in the house. Bottles sat in my workshop out of test for months until my wife complained that she kept tripping over them.Originally posted by jpdbromley

Hi Jon
After the response I got on here - I stuck them both on .....
I know, I know shame on me.
They are selling at just over £ 80 for the pair........
Funny thing is had someone on here offered me £ 30
they could have had them both.
Nuff said,
Cheers Gary
How much is a retest on a bottle ??
As these are the A-clamp type valves (not the MDE airgun type with gauge) they are considered as 'proper diving bottles') they will require a test every 2.5 years and will be due for a full visual and pressure test, these can cost from £25, visual test is cheaper. After getting a full test the next one (after 2.5yrs) is a visual only (inspecting for corrosion and cracks) after 5yrs a pressure (bottle is pressurised to test pressure) and a visual.
As far as value goes, untested and good visual condition ~30% of new cost, tested ~60% of new cost, compared to
THESE PRICES but these are less desireable then the 300 bar bottles, and as your bottles are A-clamp, they are worth less then the MDE valve bottles as shown on the BAR website.

Service and Repairs - Usually 7 - 14 days
Visual Cylinder Test 15.00
Hydrostatic Cylinder Test 25.00
I paid £25 in Cambidge Dive Centre, but prices vary, was quoted around £45 by one place ion London as far as I can remember...
Thank You!
