For sale: VERY early HW50 .22

This is one of the earliest if not THE earliest Weihrauch I have ever seen! Its got, I think, a very early Perfect trigger which is adjusted through the end cap. The top screw locks the adjusting screw. Its certainly NOT to your Record unit standard.
I'm selling this as a 'project' rifle - suitable for someone who wants something to renovate and will have an very unusual classic at the end. Its condition is poor. There is some blueing BUT you have to look for it. The stock finish is by Fence Gaurd () but its NOT split. Its 99% complete (the rear trigger guard screw is missing). It fires (but Ive got the wrong spring in it) but Im selling it as a non-shooter (so dont ask 'what power is it putting out). Its got open sights (worth £20 in themselves. )

Great purchase Alistair. I would put the date of this HW50 at somewhere in the second half of the 1950s or possibly a shade later. The first series of HW50, launched in 1950, had a short trigger block with knurling, two cylinder bands/grooves behind the breech, and side forend screws. This later example has a long trigger block, the knurling has been replaced with a plain groove, the cylinder bands have gone and it has a single under-forend bolt. Weihrauch sold non-Rekord triggers alongside Rekord triggers for many years.

I think Garvin might have a similar one ... superb engineering quality. As it's the same price as a new barrel for my HW30S I couldn't resist. I am going to do the full restoration to better than factory fresh, though, maybe even gold-plate the foresight & trigger for a bit of exaggerated bling!

It will be my open-sighter. I'm sure it will fling Hobby pellets with alacrity!
