2003 S410 .22 even better than new I reckon, especially after I swapped out the 2sear trigger for a 3 sear
Then I couldn't resist putting it into an old MPR stock 🤗

I wanted to go the other way:
    Convert an MPR-FT to .22...
Couldn't find one so gave up on the idea which lead to my S310, which I am slowly making a stock for, which is based on a Falcon FN Target stock and the ordeal will look kinda like an MPR.

A shout out for BSA S10's

I still have the very first pcp I ever bought and that was a BSA S10 Bull barrel MK3 in a beech stock. This now has a very nice walnut stock and a couple more MK3's as stable mates as well as a centenary limited edition version that John Bowkett blue printed - all are keepers and are more capable than me so why buy anything else !

What later became Evanix. This is the Duk IL Hunting Master AR-5

Yep. In essence a "revolver rifle". Ie; can be shot both single and double action. Although semis certainly are around today this was actually presented as such at the time. DA mode though slightly lower on power, for pure tech reasons.
In "unrestricted" shape these had a rep of being semi powerful.

Yeah. Korea alright, but a brand name that never really caught on here in the west. Might be we can agree on that.

    There´s more..
That being said though, look forward to a post on this one as i get around to it. First thing´s first though and that´s that BSA R-10 Mk2 i´m into currently. This one´ll be next though.

I've got a Pro Target mk3 and it still gets used every week. These are still doing the business and they're from the 90's

Unlike my samyang Sumatra's the hunting ar5 had a notorious rep for going over power. That's why they never took off over here. Very nice looking guns though

Nothing wrong with the older generations of the past few decades.

I lived through those years having seen the evolution, experienced some and even lusted after some that I just could not afford. I'd say 90+% of what mades those pcp airgun still lives. The new evolution would be more synthetics, modular concepts like tactical, more bottles and more cheaper wood.

What I do miss is the quality of the metal, the blueing and grade of wood used. It does seem bean counters have short changed us with lesser materials and quality over disposability and short termism.

I have a selection of both old and new. My very first pcp was a Falcon FN12W and I still have them for good reasons. They are exceptionally accurate and capable in a lightweight package. I still have several Titans/Falcons and the Webley/FX Axsor variants. It's the draw of the simple mechanical engineering and the quality of build. They are designed to be hand build and serviceable.

Modern guns are 'hand finished' - something that M&S do with their Christmas cakes. A machine churns them out by the millions and someone puts a plastic holly on it. CNC can make wonderful intricate components making that have made regulators a common everyday gizmo. Even my 2x Mito's have them as standard with the rest of the gun either CNC aluminium or injection moulded plastics.

Most airguns, spring or PCP are pretty fine bits of engineering that with decent care should last almost forever. Maybe we need to look past the bling and marketing BS that accompanies the latest flavour of the month on offer. What genuine technical advances have there been over the last decades since the inception of CNC machining, apart from maybe the move from CO2 to PCP? Is the latest ***** (insert favourite manufacturer) more any accurate than its 25 or 30 year old forefather, despite the eye watering price?
    Walther CP-2 Match, FAS 604 & Tau 7 target pistols, Smith & Wesson 6" & 4" co2 pistol,
Baikal IZH 53 pistol, Gamo CFX Royal,177, Umarex SA-10 CO2 pistol.
