I sold it seven or eight years ago for next to nothing to a young lad who came to our club/range with his Dad. He really took to it and I wanted him to have it.
I did replace it with a brand new one that I bought from Woodys in Wembley not long after as I kind of missed it in my collection.
My eldest son came to visit me for a couple of days last year and he had a play with it and really liked it so……….. I gave it to him.

I'll have a chat with Brian and will find out what format best suits.

As always with things like this, the final date chosen will not suit everyone and, unfortunately, there'll always be someone who would have liked to attend, but can't.

One thing that I think is a MUST is for the date to be suitable for Neil and Tina, our fantastic, selfless Boinger Bash hosts. So, for once, rather than chasing about, organising, grafting etc., they can just turn up and enjoy. Just recognition for his hard work and efforts.

Do we try and book the whole place for a day?

Do we end up just picking a day in conjunction with Brian and let people individually book two slots - morning and afternoon? But then some might miss out?

I think maybe, initially, let's gauge interest and get an idea of how many people would be interested, and take it from there.

Timings. What are most people's thought? December or early in the new year?

Provisional list of interested peeps (state on here and I'll update on this post) :-

    Neil
    Tina
    Paul (Waddy)
    Paul (Hellequin)
    Terry
    Ronster
    Craig-P
    Dave, Trumpetier
    Chris (Baldinio)
    Little Paul
    Clogger
    Flyingfish
    Foby75
    Zebedee
    Anothermiss
    Blackrider
    Gtfreight

Thanks for including me Tony, yes I'm definitely up for it!

I reckon it has to be a full day, whether we book all lanes or half. 18th Jan is perfect but even if the date changes to one where I'm working, I'll be able to book time off so you can pretty much say I'm a definite for this. Hopefully it'll be cost effective for folk for it to be a go.

I'd need to book the day as a holiday myself. But I was having a word with some of my colleagues the other day and it sounds like January is a quiet month for us ( as you might guess), so should be okay.
That would be great Tony thanks.

I think the cost of the days shooting should be OK, it's stopping overnight that'll bump the price up. But a nice meal & few beers makes it very attractive.

I've just been looking at that, it's not cheap but the rooms look good, it's probably more secure parking wise than the ones in the centre of town. It has a Beefeater next door for food & drinks, which is handy because the town looks too far to walk to a restaurant & pubs. Not knowing what the center of Donny is like on a Saturday night (might be OK might be a bit rough ?) the Beefeater looks like a good option.

Can't be any worse than these parts and besides if theres a group of you someone would have to be pretty stupid to even try something, If theres a way for me to be there I don't mind using a Car to ferry people and refraining from drinking as it doesn't agree all that well with my meds anyway if that puts minds at rest.

Gotcha, Pauly. Spreading the "Ratty love" around then, my friend?

Are you tempted to get another one (although they cost a fair bit more now)?

Yep, not sure what the parking arrangements would be like for the one in town, but the one at Lakeside would be a fair old walk away (2.5 to 3 miles?).

I don't know if there would be any other hotel chains in the right (Wheatley Hall Road) area?

Sorry I haven't managed to speak with Brian yet. I was intending to yesterday, but felt a bit out of it by late morning and did very little apart from vegetate in front of the TV.

    Not so bad this morning.

Sounds like the St Leger races start at Doncaster today, so I wonder what the traffic will be like for work.....

The only hotel I can see that's in town with parking is The Regent, but it's quite pricey https://www.theregenthotel.co.uk/

There's the Mercure, even pricier & no car park https://www.mercuredanum.co.uk/

Wetherspoons have a hotel too, also no parking https://hotels.jdwetherspoon.com/hotels/the-red-lion/

Premier inn is very cheap but again no parking, or rather parking in the middle of town in quite an exposed location https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hot...ishergate.html

The other option is getting taxi (s) into town

No worries Tony, I hope you haven't got the cold / man flu doing the rounds, just about everyone at my work has got it

Well offers still there if someone can get me there, I used to drive Vans so even big cars aren't a bother, I just might need help if its something low down or high up and you might need the shortest guy behind me to fit the most people in, don't mind multiple trips aslong as its not excessive as after 20 mins or so it hurts like hell.
Only other need might be some sort of Nav as I don't know Donnie and if you lot are pissed you probably wont be able to direct and where ever I am/going to I need to be able to park at as I can't walk far.

It’s not like I was using it much at all and it’s nice to know others will get more enjoyment by actually using it. Nah, I won’t get another now. I’ve got the Victory CP2 which isn’t a million miles different. Not that I use that either

Cheers for all of that, Paul.

Yep, it seems to have just turned into a bit of a cold now. Able to work as much milder symptoms. Just felt really bad on Wednesday pm.

    P.S.....

Yep, definitely sounding like the Premier Inn at Lakeside might be the better option for those needing a hotel.

Donny centre, I'd guess, would be relatively "boisterous" on a Saturday night. I'll ask the lads at work who live locally where they might recommend for food and drinks later.
